Job Description Insight Global is looking for an Automation Engineer for one of our manufacturing clients in Columbia, SC. This role is crucial in enhancing operational efficiency, reducing costs, and improving product quality through innovative automation solutions. System Design and Development: Design and develop automated systems for manufacturing, testing, and production processes. Process Improvement: Analyze existing processes to identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements. Programming: Write and maintain scripts and programs for automation using various programming languages (e.g., Python, Java). Testing and Validation: Create and execute test plans to validate automated solutions and ensure they meet specifications and requirements. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., production, quality assurance, IT) to integrate automation solutions. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues in automated systems and provide ongoing support and maintenance. Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of systems, processes, and procedures related to automation projects. Continuous Learning: Stay updated on the latest automation technologies and trends to enhance skills and contribute to the organizations innovation. Skills and Requirements Education: Bachelors degree in engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Experience: Proven experience in automation engineering or a related field. Technical Skills: Proficiency in programming languages, experience with automation tools (e.g., PLCs, SCADA systems), and knowledge of software development methodologies. Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex systems. Communication: Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Experience with specific automation software or tools (e.g., UiPath, Blue Prism). Knowledge of industrial automation standards and safety regulations.
