Title: Civil Site Engineer

Location: Syracuse, NY

Direct Hire

Starting Pay: Up to 90k depending on experience

A Civil Site Engineer responsible for planning and assessing the feasibility of land development projects, including site layout, grading, utility design, stormwater management, erosion control, hydrologic modeling, drainage, and sediment control design. 2- 5 years' experience working on commercial, institutional, municipal or mixed-use development projects.

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
• Minimum of 1-2+ years of related Engineering experience required
• Strong knowledge of engineering, computational, and modeling software (AutoCAD, etc.)
• Has a strong theoretical knowledge in the respective engineering field
• Demonstrates a strong willingness to learn about the respective engineering discipline
• Familiar with QA/QC procedures
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit various audiences
• Desire to work in a collaborative team environment with the willingness to assist more senior staff
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software required
• Ability to travel (local site visits)

Company notes - they are big enough, 1900 + employees, 40 + office locations. to offer diversity and opportunity but small enough that a person will not get lost. Second, they chase clients not projects. In other words, they work with a smaller number of clients who give them good projects and work to gain more services and cross selling opportunities with those clients.

Job order details: They are specifically wanting to add a junior civil engineer to the commercial & institutional land development team. No more than 1-5+ years' experience, they do not have a need for a more experienced civil site engineer. Civil 3D is not required but a bonus.

Work will involve a variety, of commercial, municipal, institutional and mixed-use projects in the Syracuse area. They will work alongside professional engineers, the Civil Engineer - Land Development supports the design development, implementation, and technical analysis of technical various systems to implement new products, or changes to an existing scheme, to suit individual client needs. This professional aids in preparing technical reports, contract documents and cost estimates for various engineering tasks. The individual in this role works on multiple projects in a timely and cost-effective manner to meet client, contractual and company requirements.
