Content Writer

CyberGuy is looking for an experienced content writer to research, pitch, investigate and write consumer tech stories on a variety of popular topics. Your role will focus on writing consumer tech how-tos, news, gadget reviews, advice, and pop culture with passion and accuracy. Please refer to CyberGuy.com to see the types of articles we cover. 

This is  less of a "technical" content writer and more of a "consumer" tech writer.

Qualifications

• You are passionate about storytelling
• You are curious, understand tech, and are the friend and family member most sought after for tech advice
• You have experience of at least 3 years in storytelling from writing tech-related content
• You are skilled at writing clear and compelling content on deadline
• You have strong news judgment and the ability to identify compelling meaningful stories
• You are skilled at quickly going in-depth and explaining complicated concepts in an understandable way for anyone to follow
• You are curious and able to source facts and information with thoroughness and accuracy
• You are proactive, self-motivated, and adaptable
• You have great attention to detail
• You can think strategically and solve problems independently
• You are resourceful and able to get answers when none are apparent
• You have experience working with a team to bring smart content to life
• You have experience in WordPress and Canva

Key Responsibilities

• You will deliver articles with an average length of 400 to 600 words each
• You will help identify and pitch articles that our audience will find engaging, topical, helpful, entertaining, and relevant that complement our written articles
• You will be responsible for writing, sourcing, adding images to, and completing articles free of spelling and grammatical errors
• You will test all of your work that explains a ‘how-to” process to ensure anyone can accurately follow the steps
• You will write clever headlines and subtitles that are highly compelling yet never bait the audience
• You will qualitatively check your own work for accuracy before submitting it
• You have a flexible schedule able to meet the demands of 24/7 tech news content production
