Abilities, Inc. Maintenance

Summary of Responsibilities:

Your primary responsibilities will include a variety of skills to support the complete maintenance and repair needs of an assisted living community, including: The building’s plumbing, masonry, carpentry, painting, electrical, dry walling, refrigeration, air conditioning, flooring, moving appliances when needed and grounds. This responsibility encompasses preventative and responsive maintenance.

Education and Training Required:

Has a working knowledge of building plans and building cleaning and maintenance work. Is able to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral and diagrammatic form Work independently with self motivation. Must train in resident rights, fire safety, standard precautions and ceu classes after one year of employment.

Reports to:

Executive Director

Duties/Responsibilities:

Receives and responds to oral and written instructions primarily from the Executive Director of Operations.

Prepares a systematic approach to the cleaning, repair, and maintenance of the buildings, grounds, and equipment and carries it out.

Maintain lighting/electrical.

Maintain sprinkler system.

Fire safety evacuation program.

Routine repair/maintenance of building, resident room, common areas.

Troubleshoots equipment problems.

Assembles new equipment and furniture.

Maintain snow covered sidewalks, plowing during winter months.

Attends monthly staff meetings and monthly training sessions (the latter, as appropriate).

Performs other duties as required to maintain Abilities, Inc. buildings and homes, equipment and grounds in clean, orderly, and working condition.

Works:

Full-time position. 40 hours per week. With rotating weekend backup calls.

Part Time Position less then 40 hours per week with rotating weekend back up call-compensation
