Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

• Assess the acceptability of specimens for testing based on established criteria.
• Perform both routine and complex technical procedures in accordance with departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation to ensure it functions correctly.
• Make technical decisions related to testing and problem resolution.
• Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents and controls.
• Accurately and promptly report test results to contribute to quality patient care.
• Conduct and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and restock testing bench supplies as needed.
• Assist with specimen processing when required.
• Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines.

Requirements :

• A Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or compliance with local regulatory requirements.
• 0-4 years of clinical laboratory testing experience required.
• A State Medical Technologist license may be necessary.
• ASCP or AMT certification is preferred or required.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
