Job Description
We are currently hiring for a part-time Benefits Consultant (20-30 hours per week) to join our rapidly growing HR Consulting team. The Benefits Consultant will work closely with the HR Consultant team and their client’s team to understand their specific employee benefits needs, help to identify the best plan options for them, document processes, assist with managing open enrollment, answer questions, and help ensure plans are in compliance. A strong background in 401(k) plan administration is essential for this role.
This is a fully remote position. We are seeking someone looking for permanent part-time employment, committed to RCR with flexibility in their schedule to work additional hours based on business needs. We are not looking for someone seeking part-time employment in addition to other employment.
Key Responsibilities: - Administer and manage employee benefit programs, including health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, retirement plans, and other employee benefits, with a particular emphasis on 401(k) plan administration.
- Provide expert guidance on 401(k) plan setup, administration, compliance, and communication, ensuring plans meet regulatory requirements and align with client objectives.
- Communicate benefit information to employees and answer any questions they may have.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, including the Affordable Care Act (ACA), Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), and other relevant laws.
- Consult with clients to understand their benefits needs and objectives.
- Work with outside vendors, such as insurance carriers and retirement plan administrators, to ensure smooth operation of benefit programs.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures related to employee benefits.
- Coordinate open enrollment and other benefit-related events and programs.
- Generate reports and perform analysis on benefit program usage and costs.
- Assist with creating benefit surveys to understand what the employees are looking for in terms of benefits.
- Conduct market research to stay up-to-date with current trends in employee benefits.
- Work with internal teams to ensure seamless implementation of benefits packages.
- Assist with ongoing benefits administration, including enrollments, terminations, and management.
- Continuously evaluate and adjust benefits packages to ensure they meet client needs and remain competitive in the market.
- Assist with other HR-related tasks and projects as needed.
Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in benefits consulting or a related field, with substantial experience in 401(k) plan administration.
- In-depth knowledge of employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other ancillary benefits.
- Previous experience working in a remote setting
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with benefits administration software is a plus.
- Relevant certifications (such as CEBS or CBP) are preferred.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour
