Senior Software Engineer needed for a well-funded startup disrupting the real estate and property management products space. With significant backing and a founding team with a proven track record of scaling startups to successful exits, this is an exciting opportunity to make an impact. As the team expands this year, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the company's technological and cultural foundation. You'll leverage your Java expertise to build and implement robust backend systems, contributing significantly to the company's next phase of growth.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Backend Development: Design, development, and optimization of backend architecture with a focus on scalability, performance, and security.
• Platform: A streamlined real estate and property management platform used by property investors, vendors, tenants, and operations teams.
• Tech Stack: Work with the latest Java, React, CSS, MySQL, and AWS technologies
• Collaboration: Partner with a talented engineering team to design and implement features while maintaining high code quality and adherence to best practices.
• Problem Solving: Address complex technical challenges with a results-driven mindset, delivering innovative and effective solutions.
• API Development: Design, develop, and deploy server APIs, adhering to industry-leading best practices. Build Services & APIs by writing code that is clean, minimal, and easy to understand
• Cross-Functional Engagement: Collaborate closely with other business units to understand requirements, communicate effectively, and build the necessary systems to support organizational goals.

Skills / Experience Needed:

• 4+ years of backend Java development experience.
• Strong experience with AWS services and infrastructure.
• Proficiency with tools such as Terraform, Docker, and GitHub.
• Front-end development experience using JavaScript, React, and TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience with GraphQL API development.
• Prior experience working with early-stage and high-growth startups (Seed to Series A or B)
• Strong understanding of software architecture and expertise in managing complex systems.
• Understanding of data structures and algorithms.
• Startup mentality - can solve big problems with a small team
• You love clear, concise, & readable code. You obsess over continuous personal and technical improvement
• Ability to travel to Austin 4x per year (1x per quarter) if not local.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field from a Top Tier University.
