Role Description
The SVP, Health is a full-time hybrid role located in Boston, MA , with flexibility for some remote work. The SVP, Health plays a critical leadership role, overseeing the agency's day-to-day client operations, ensuring health and wellness of our firm along with client success. This position partners closely with the CEO and finance head, translating the agency’s vision into actionable strategies while managing the operational infrastructure.
The primary focus of this position is agency growth, client success/engagement and best practices. To that end, LaVoieHealthScience is seeking a savvy, roll up your sleeve's health and life science/biotech strategist with an entrepreneurial mindset to provide leadership and strategic account direction to clients and contributes to the health and wellness of the agency. The SVP, will bring a growth mindset with focus on retaining and organically growing the existing portfolio of clients in CNS, oncology, cardiovascular diseases, immunology and more. The successful candidate will leverage their relationships and deep experience as a health and life science industry leader to attract new clients through relationship cultivation and network development. The SVP will guide client service project teams in developing and profitably executing client strategy, with ultimate accountability for program results.
The SVP, Health role requires an expert leader in integrated communications strategy in biotech, medtech, pharma and related industries with a strong interest in science across a number of therapeutic/disease areas with:
* a strong public relations focus with proven track record of client trust and results
* excellent crisis management skills and understanding of what constitutes a crisis/disclosure
* proven expertise in integrated communications measurement with a keen eye for earned media
* understanding and track record in investor relations and financial communications with both private and public companies
The SVP, Health will partner with CEO and head of finance to ensure organizational efficiency by overseeing all operational aspects of the business, including staffing, resource allocation, systems and processes. Working closely with Finance, this key member of the leadership team will ensure client success, monitoring budgets. Success in this role requires a combination of strategic thinking and ability to execute on client and agency matters.
Bachelor's degree required and advanced degree and/or relevant industry sector experience preferred. Strong preference on demonstrated success in agency management and client oversight.
Experience: a minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in related positions either agency, corporate or preferably both.
