Job Description

Matec Instrument Companies , Inc. specializes in the design, development, and manufacturing of ultrasonic imaging and nondestructive testing systems. Used by some of the most well-known aerospace, military, railroad, and metals companies in the world, Matec has experienced steady and profitable growth.

Job Functions and Responsibilities:

Collaborate with software engineers to develop, edit and refine all software documentation for system control and analysis.
Authors technical documentation and diagnostic service procedures gathered from engineering resources and develops systems troubleshooting and maintenance manuals.
Interpret blueprints and engineering specifications.
Develop all Environmental, Health, and Safety documentation as required.
Manage new and existing documentation to ensure information is relevant and accurate.
Assist in developing marketing materials for print and digital ad campaigns.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Engineering, or Computer Science.
3-5 years experience in technical writing, ideally with a mechanical or electrical focus.
Understanding of machine operating principles.
Experience with Madcap Flare or other XML content authoring tools is required .
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
Excellent grammar and proofreading skills.
Demonstrated ability to understand and write about complex information and make it understandable in text and through images and media.
Excellent work ethic and strong intellectual curiosity.
