How you will create impact

We are seeking a talented and motivated full stack engineer who loves technology to join our team to implement AIG's Digital API & shared services vision. As a Global API Engineer, GenAI (Full Stack), you will be responsible for developing and maintaining both front-end and back-end components of our applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement digital APIs and new features while ensuring high performance, responsiveness, and scalability of our applications exposing as services to the world.

Your responsibilities include

• API Design & Development
  • Design, develop, and maintain both front and back-end components and cloud infrastructure for Digital APIs and Developer Portal
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Define & implement API best practices including versioning, life-cycle management, and governance
  • Documentation of API contracts using OpenAPI / Swagger specifications

• Full Stack Engineering & Infrastructure
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable cloud applications using AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions)
  • Implement and use containers for deployment of application functionality using on AWS (Docker, ECS, EKS)
  • Use CI/CD pipelines for automation of everything, including deployment and certification of application functionality
  • Test-driven development including use of automation for certifying software quality and performance

• Modern Technology Stacks for API Development
  • Java / Spring Boot for design, development of APIs and micro services in a containerized environment
  • NodeJS or Python for design, development of APIs and micro services in a serverless or scripted environment
  • Terraform and AWS CDK for development and deployment of Infrastructure as Code on AWS
  • MuleSoft Anypoint Platform for supporting Java-based APIs

What is needed to be successful

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in full stack development
• Proficiency in front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern frameworks (e.g., React, Angular)
• Strong knowledge of back-end programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, Node.js)
• Experience with database technologies (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and web services
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
• Knowledge of web security practices and OAuth 2.0
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS)
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Experience with Agile methodologies and excellent communication and team skills

It would be nice if

• Experience with microservices architecture
• Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker)
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
• Understanding of DevOps practices
• Experience with test-driven development (TDD)
