Job Description

SUMMARY: Responsible for various types of preparation, welding and welding finishing operators to manufacture steel burial vaults. Move vaults with hand cart, set up, and finish. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Completion of assigned welding duties. 
• Working knowledge of fixtures and welding set-up parameters. 
• Must know how to use conventional and precision measuring instruments. 
• Maintains accurate records of test results and reports 
• Conducts tests on welds and fixes welds if necessary. 
• Operates required machinery and equipment in a safe manner following established safety rules, maintains a neat and clean work area, follows established tool and instrument control procedures, and reports any unsafe acts or conditions to Team Leader. 
• Performs inspections and installations of parts and components on equipment, maintains accurate records of the installation of these parts and the collection of test data. 
• Observes machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction. 
• Performs related duties as assigned by team leader/supervisor. 
• QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• High School Education or GED; Technical Degree is beneficial but not required.
• One to Three years related experience. 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute, rate, ratio, and percent and to read and interpret metal ruler. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
• Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. 
• Must regularly life and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently life and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally life and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 
• Regularly works near moving or mechanical parts.
• Occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. 
• The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
